Silent movie The Artist is leading the way for this year's Baftas, with 12 nominations including best film and best director.
The two stars of the black and white French film, Jean Dujardin and Berenice Bejo, are also in the running for best actor and best actress respectively.
Meryl Streep is also up for best actress, for her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady, while George Clooney has received a nod for best actor in The Descendents.
British Cold War-era spy movie Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, based on the book of the same name by John le Carre, is close behind The Artist with 11 nominations.
Both Streep and the Artist were winners at Sunday's (January 15th) Golden Globe Awards. The American star took home one of the best actress awards, while the Michel Hazanavicius' film won three prizes, including best picture, best score and best actor for Jean Djuardin.
