Artist Sam Taylor-Wood is to marry Aaron Johnson, the 19-year-old actor who played John Lennon in her film Nowhere Boy.
Taylor-Wood, 42, walked down the red carpet with Johnson on Thursday at the premiere of her directorial debut Nowhere Boy, which closed the BFI London Film Festival and has already received critical acclaim.
The couple met when she cast the actor, who is tipped for Hollywood after his performance in her John Lennon biopic.
A spokesperson for the couple said they were "very happy."
Turner Prize-nominated Taylor-Wood split from her husband, art dealer Jay Jopling, last year.
The two remain on good terms and Jopling attended the premiere of Nowhere Boy with his girlfriend, Rachel Barrett. Last year, Jopling had a brief but well-publicised relationship with Lily Allen, 22.
A leading member of the Young British Artists movement, Taylor-Wood has fought colon cancer and breast cancer.
Her decision to direct Nowhere Boy surprised the art world but her portrayal of the 15-year-old Lennon's relationships with his mother and his Aunt Mimi, who brought him up.
