Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe has "categorically" denied a newspaper's allegation that he was seen smoking cannabis at a party.
The Daily Mirror had published photographs purportedly of the 20-year-old and claimed he "repeatedly took deep drags" of a cannabis joint while at a north London house party.
A spokeswoman for the young star strongly denied the tabloid's allegations, stating: "Daniel does smoke the occasional roll-up cigarette, but he was not doing anything more than this."
She added: "We are considering our position and will be taking all necessary action in relation to such allegations."
The newspaper had claimed Radcliffe was seen openly declaring his fondness for marijuana at the party, and quoted a partygoer as saying the actor "looked spaced out".
Radcliffe, who has played boy wizard Harry Potter since 2001, is currently filming the final films in the series, based on JK Rowling's novel Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
