Pamela Anderson has suffered a miscarriage, her spokesperson has confirmed.

The former Baywatch actress is currently filming Blonde and Blonder in Vancouver, where she is believed to have been treated by a doctor on set rather than visiting a hospital.

Last week reports of the miscarriage emerged in Us Weekly magazine, and confirming it today, her rep Tracey Nguyen requested that "Pamela's privacy be respected at this time".

Anderson, who has two children, married her on/off boyfriend Kid Rock in August this year and is said to be keen to have another baby.

A source told the magazine: "It is what it is. It was early enough. She will keep trying. She really wants another baby."

It's likely that her newly-formed friendship with co-star Denise Richards will provide Anderson with support, as she recently described the actress as "a great friend who I have a lot in common with".
