US actors Demi Moore and Miley Cyrus are reportedly considering signing on for a US remake of French drama LOL: Laughing Out Loud.
The Pathe film, which starred Sophie Marceau and Christina Theret in 2009, grossed more than $20 million in France last year, and original director Lisa Azuelos-Alessandrin is to write and direct the US version.
And according to Variety, the American remake could couple a young Hollywood star with one of the highest paid actresses of the 1990s.
Hannah Montana actress Cyrus and Indecent Proposal star Demi Moore are said to be closing in on the film's leading roles of a 15-year-old girl and her 40-year-old divorced mother.
LOL: Laughing Out Loud tells of the fraught relationship between the mother and daughter as the former struggles to move on from her divorce while the latter is dumped by her boyfriend and attempts to begin a relationship with his best friend.
The film's title comes from the teenage character's obsession with instant messaging as well as her name, Lola.
Cyrus can next be seen in Disney drama The Last Song while Moore stars in upcoming independent films The Joneses and Happy Tears.
