Actress Megan Fox has ignored criticism of her admission of marijuana use and called for the drug to be legalised.
The Transformers actress, who appeared in London on Monday night at the film's UK premiere, had hit the headlines in May after announcing in an interview with British GQ that she smokes cannabis.
"I can't tell you how much bulls**t I've been through because I will openly say that I smoke weed," she had told the magazine.
"People look at it like it's this crazy, hippy, f****d-up thing to do. And it's not."
And speaking at a press conference ahead of the release of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the 23-year-old was unmoved by a question criticising her outspoken admission of recreational drug use.
"I wouldn't call it recreational drug use," Fox retorted.
"I'm not going to clubs and doing cocaine. I was just talking about the legalisation of marijuana.
"If alcohol is legal in the US, I just think marijuana should be."
When asked if she thought admitting taking cannabis was at odds with her being a public figure, Fox replied: "In terms of being a role model - are 12-year-old girls reading British GQ? ", drawing laughs from the press in attendance.
