Thespian couple James McAvoy and Anne-Marie Duff are expecting their first child together, they have announced.
The pair's spokesman Rupert Fowler confirmed Duff's pregnancy and said there would be no further comment issued at this time.
McAvoy, 30, and 39-year-old Duff married in 2006 after meeting on the set of Channel 4 drama Shameless some three years previously.
Duff had played McAvoy's onscreen girlfriend Fiona Gallagher in the Mancunian series.
Since their time on the fictional Chatsworth Estate, both have gone on to huge success, with McAvoy starring in the Oscar-nominated Atonement and The Last King of Scotland as well as box office hits The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and Wanted.
He can soon be seen alongside Dame Helen Mirren and Christopher Plummer in Tolstoy biopic The Last Station.
Duff, meanwhile, was recently nominated for a Bafta for her performance as John Lennon's mother Julia in Sam Taylor-Wood's Nowhere Boy.
She was also acclaimed for her portrayal of Joan of Arc at the National Theatre and as ballerina Margot Fonteyn in a BBC4 drama.
