American actress Lindsay Lohan is being sued by a paparazzo who says she drove into him as he was about to take her picture.
Freelance photographer Giovanni Arnold claims he suffered "sustained severe and permanent personal injuries" as a result of being hit by Lohan, who is understood to have been driving her mother's BMW.
A lawsuit filed by Arnold alleges that he is still receiving medical treatment after sustaining injuries to both knees in the March 13th incident, which took place in New York's West Village area.
The photographer is seeking compensation for his injuries and loss of income following the accident, according to the legal papers submitted last Thursday at a court in the Bronx.
His lawyer Marc Mausser claims that the photographer was standing in front of Lohan's car and was about to take a picture when the Georgia Rules actress drove into him, throwing him onto the vehicle's hood.
Lohan has yet to comment on the allegations.
The 20-year-old actress, known for her partying, has already caused a stir in the tabloids this month. British paper the News of the World recently alleged that the star had been videoed by friends taking what appeared to be cocaine in the toilets of a nightclub.
Fortunately for Lohan she has now caused a media frenzy for the right reasons, having just topped a list of the world's 100 hottest women for Maxim magazine.
"There is no other star in the world that causes more of a stir in the public eye than Lindsay. Her every move is watched and reported on," commented Maxim's editor-in-chief Jimmy Jellinik.
