Angelina Jolie's adoption of a three-year-old Vietnamese boy has been completed.
The 31-year-old actress has now left the country with Pham Quang Sang, who she has renamed Pax Thien - combining the Latin word for peace and the Vietnamese word for sky or heaven.
Photographers for the Reuters news agency saw Jolie, her children and assistants take off from Hanoi's Noi Bai airport onboard a private jet after collecting the child's visa.
She has spent the past week shielding him from the media glare in Vietnam's luxury hotels and blacked-out cars.
Pax Thien is her fourth child that she is raising with her partner Brad Pitt. She was forced to adopt him on her own as Vietnamese laws do not allow unmarried couples to adopt.
He had been living in an orphanage after being abandoned as an infant.
Joining her in Vietnam were her five-year-old son Maddox, who was adopted from Cambodia, and two-year-old Zahara, who was adopted from Ethiopia. Jolie gave birth to her first daughter, Shiloh Nouvel, with Pitt last year.
