Harrison Ford has said that he never tires of playing the iconic Indiana Jones character that made him a household name nearly 20 years ago.

"I never tire of Indy," the actor said on Entertainment Tonight while talking about the upcoming fourth instalment in the series, Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull.

Ford, 65, said the delay in producing a fourth film was due to the length of time it took to find an appropriate script.

"It was a matter of finding a story that Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and I all agreed on. Ten years ago, I thought it wasn't going to happen. They finally had something we were happy with and it went very smoothly after that," he said.

The veteran actor was also full of praise for his co-star in the upcoming film, Shia LeBeouf, who reportedly plays Indiana's son Mutt.

"He is a delight, an absolute professional, well prepared and a really nice person. He works hard and I think he's going to be around a long time," he said.

The latest Indiana Jones film is due out in the UK on May 22nd.
