Lehmann penalty hero as Arsenal reach final

Goalkeeper Jens Lehmann was Arsenal's hero as they reached the final of the Champions League after a 0-0 draw against Villarreal.

Despite his earnest vow to rush home to fiancee Katie Holmes, Tom Cruise spent more than four hours on the red carpet last night, lapping up fan adoration at the London premiere of his latest film Mission Impossible III.

The Hollywood star, who supposedly nearly didn't make it all because of his new born baby Suri, was clearly delighted to be back in front of the cameras as he cheesily posed for photographs and chatted with the hundreds of supporters who had turned out to see their pint-sized actor hero.

Cruise's baby daughter, his first child with Batman Begins star Holmes, was born just a week ago but since then he has been jetting around Europe from one press conference to another, vigorously promoting the latest big budget Mission Impossible instalment.

He will no doubt be hoping that all the extra attention translates to box office success when the film is released around the world in the first week of May, particularly seeing as his recent film offerings have led to rumours that the Top Gun-turned-Last Samurai's time in the spotlight could be coming to an end.

Forty-four in July, all of Cruise's most recent films have proven to be hugely expensive flops, with War of the Worlds, Collateral and indeed The Last Samurai, all receiving disappointing takings and critics' reviews.

Suri he cannot afford another failure, something he seems all too aware of, but only time will tell.track
