Kevin Costner has plummeted from an all-time career low to, well, an even deeper all-time career low after being named and shamed as the Hollywood star involved in a legal sex claim row.
Costner, 51, is alleged to have performed a lewd sex act in front of a female masseuse while honeymooning at the famous five-star Old Course Hotel in St Andrews, Scotland, in 2004.
The 34-year-old masseuse, who cannot be named for legal reasons, initially claimed unfair dismissal and sexual discrimination against the hotel after she lost her job for claiming Costner groped her while she was massaging him, before exposing himself.
However, she yesterday agreed to receive an undisclosed sum with hotel lawyers before a tribunal hearing in Dundee took place, which has meant Costner, who has constantly denied the allegations, will not have to face any police or indeed court proceedings in connection with the incident.
The tribunal did rule however that Costner's name can be revealed in the British press, which will do little to help his reputation or indeed any hope he had for resurrecting his sunken film career.
Costner, most famous for his roles in The Bodyguard and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, is currently involved in filming for two forthcoming features, The Guardian, directed by Andrew Davis, and Mr Brooks, which is due to be released next year.
