Model and actress Anna Nicole Smith died from an accidental drug overdose, a US autopsy has confirmed.
Police today said that there was nothing in the death of the former Playboy Playmate that indicated foul play.
Smith collapsed at a hotel in Hollywood, Florida, on February 8th, and was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital soon after.
The county's chief medical examiner Dr Joshua Perper explained that the model said she was "feeling very weak but did not complain of pain" on the day of her death.
And Florida police chief Charlie Tiger, unveiling the results of the delayed postmortem, insisted the investigation threw up "no other criminal elements".
"We have reviewed hundreds of hours of video tape captured by the hotel security cameras and we found nothing unusual," he said.
But while police consider the case to now be closed, the legal battle surrounding the 39-year-old's estate and custody over her nine-month-old daughter Dannielynn still rages on.
On March 2nd hundreds of people attended a private funeral service for the model in Nassau, the Bahamas.
