Actor Jon Voight has moved to express his delight at reports that his estranged daughter Angelina Jolie is expecting her second child.
The Tomb Raider star set the rumour mills in motion at the weekend by arriving at the Screen Actors' Guild (SAG) awards wearing a maternity-style dress.
And according to her actor father Voight, the prospect of becoming a grandfather for the fifth time would be "wonderful"
When asked about the gossip, he replied: "It's wonderful news that she's having another child, if that's true.
"I can't count on anything the press says about her because there is so much said but she has certainly captured the imagination of the press."
Veteran thespian Voight was reported to have reconciled with his daughter at Christmas after years of estrangement believed to have been sparked by disagreements regarding Jolie's late mother Marcheline Bertrand.
Though the pair appeared together in 2001's Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Jolie legally dropped Voight as her surname in 2002.
The actress and her partner Brad Pitt are already parents to four children together: adopted children Maddox, six, Pax Thien, four and three-year-old Zahara, as well as biological daughter Shiloh, 20 months old.
