England will take on reigning African Cup of Nations champions Egypt at Wembley in their first friendly of 2010 as Fabio Capello's side gear up for the World Cup finals.
The north African side lost out on a place in South Africa after a 1-0 defeat to England's group rivals Algeria in the final playoff game in November.
It will be the first time England have taken on African opposition since Capello took charge in January 2008, and the Italian tactician is thought to view the Egyptian side as similar to Algeria in their overall approach.
Egypt and England last met in the 1990 World Cup finals, when a Mark Wright goal in the Three Lions' final group match took them into the second round.
Next year's friendly will be played on Wednesday March 3rd.
