England are closing on winning the third Test against New Zealand with the Kiwis requiring another 64 runs to make the England bat again.
After being bowled out for 123 in their first innings in reply to England's first innings total of 364, the Kiwis are struggling on 177/5 after Michael Vaughan enforced the follow-on.
The entire morning session was lost to rain and when play did start, all eyes were on James Anderson too see if he could take all 10 New Zealand wickets after he took six yesterday.
But Ryan Sidebottom quickly spoiled Anderson's attempts of taking 10 wickets as he got New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori to edge behind to Andrew Strauss at second slip.
Anderson and Sidebottom were not at their best so Vaughan turned to youngster Staurt Broad to try and clean up the New Zealand tale and that is exactly what he did.
He fist claimed the wicket off Kyle Mills who was caught at gully by Kevin Pietersen and then bowled Iain O'Brien in the same over.
Anderson finished with career best figures of 7/43 after he got Gareth Hopkins out lbw to end the New Zealand innings.
Vaughan asked New Zealand to follow-on, but things were harder for the England bowlers in the second innings.
England, however, did get an early breakthrough when Jamie How (19) was caught in the slips by Alastair Cook off the bowling of Sidebottom.
Broad then grabbed two quick wickets as he first snared Ross Taylor out lbw and then had Aaron Redmond caught behind by Tim Ambrose.
Brendon McCullum (71) and Daniel Flynn (49) then steadied things for New Zealand as they shared in a 94 run partnership. But both players fell towards the end of the day as McCullum was bowled by Anderson and Sidebottom got Flynn who edged one to Ambrose.
