An abysmal fourth day showing from England in the first Test against the West Indies saw the visitors dismissed for 51 as they fell to an innings defeat.
The capitulation came after Stuart Broad had completed his maiden five-wicket haul with the hosts all out for 392, leading by 73 runs.
Andrew Strauss' men would have hoped to set up an interesting final day but with Alistair Cook dismissed for a duck with the score on 1 and Ian Bell falling for 4 soon after, England found themselves 63 runs adrift at lunch.
Jerome Taylor yorked Kevin Pietersen for 1 as the afternoon session began and then claimed his third as visiting captain Strauss nicked a straight one to wicket-keeper Denesh Ramdin.
With just three runs added to the score, the mercurial Taylor left Collingwood heading back to the pavilion on 1 as a quick delivery clipped the leg bail before sending Prior's off-stump flying with a beautiful slower ball.
And England were left facing their lowest ever Test total when Broad, the hero earlier in the day, was caught at short-leg for a duck.
Andrew Flintoff and Ryan Sidebottom helped to steady the ship, putting on 24 for the eighth wicket, with a powerful four from the former helping England surpass their lowest-ever Test score of 45.
Sidebottom fell lbw to Sulieman Benn with England on 50, with Flintoff clean bowled for 24 shortly after and Steve Harmison bowled for a duck to see England consigned to an embarrassing defeat of an innings and 23 runs in Kingston.
