Britain's Heather Watson made light work of winning the US Open girls' singles title with an impressive 6-4 6-1 victory over Yana Buchina of Russia.
In doing so the Guernsey-born, Florida-based 17-year-old will be able to step out of the shadow of Laura Robson, the 15-year-old who received much publicity for winning the Wimbledon girl's title in 2008.
Robson was beaten by Buchina in the semi-finals of this tournament but Watson played with the assurance of someone who knows the Russian's game inside out; not surprising given the two finalists are doubles partners.
The only time Watson seemed in trouble was when she went 3-1 down in the opening set but the break was instantly recovered and she never looked back.
Her achievement is especially impressive given that she is only number 14 in the world rankings for juniors.
Previous winners of the US Open junior girls' title include Lindsay Davenport (1992) and Jennifer Capriati (1988).
As she returns to Nick Bolletieri's 'hothouse' training camp in Florida, Watson can look forward to the tournament invitations, sponsorship offers and press interest that her famous victory will bring her.
