Police investigating murder of London teenager Shakilus Townsend reiterate appeal for eyewitnesses
Police investigating the murder of London teenager Shakilus Townsend have reiterated an appeal for eyewitnesses.
The 16-year-old was found at a block of flats on Beulah Crescent in Thornton Heath, south London, at 14:00 BST last Thursday.
Shakilus – known to his friends as Shaki – was taken to hospital but succumbed to his injuries just after midnight on Friday.

Detectives said Shaki had been approached by three boys and one girl, with the male youths stabbing him and hitting him around the head with a baseball bat.
They boys are described as black, in their mid-teens, wearing hooded tops with the hoods up, and bandannas over the lower half of their faces. The girl is described as black, in her mid-teens and wearing a floral dress.
From their actions after the attack, the teenagers appeared to be unfamiliar with the area - they were seen to run in various directions looking for a way to escape.
Two knives have already been recovered from the scene.

On Saturday an 18-year-old man was arrested, with two male teenagers and a 15-year-old girl, as well as a 22-year-old man, being detained a day later.
All five remain in custody at various south London police stations.
On Tuesday police were granted an extra 36 hours to question the suspects.
