Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has issued an apology for his behaviour in the aftermath of his side's Champions League exit to Barcelona.
An enraged Drogba confronted referee Tom Henning Ovrebo after Chelsea were on the wrong end of a number of poor decisions from the Norwegian official, including having four penalty appeals turned down.
Drogba had to be escorted away from the referee and off the pitch by his team-mates, but called the referee a "disgrace" and swore into a camera before finally leaving the pitch.
"I was very upset at what happened during the game, but having seen the pictures on TV I accept that I overreacted," said Drogba.
"I also fully accept that the language I used did not set a good example for those watching at home, especially children. I regret that in the heat of the moment I let out my incredible frustration and disappointment in this way, and for that I apologise."
Despite the apology, Drogba is still expected to be investigated and punished for his behaviour by Uefa.
Meanwhile, Jose Boswinga admitted he regretted describing the referee as a "thief" on Portuguese television and said he wanted to withdraw the comments he made.
