Nick Dougherty is three shots clear at the Dunhill Links Championship after carding a third round six-under-par 66 at St Andrews.
The Englishman, who also hit a second round 66 at Carnoustie yesterday, leads the event on 17-under-par, with Australian Peter O'Malley his closest challenger on 14-under-par.
Dougherty, who is looking to win only his second European Tour title, didn't drop a shot all round and picked up five birdies.
He said: "To be honest I just took my chances where I had them. I have putted really well this week. That's what has made the difference and why I have made so many birdies."
The Dunhill Links Championship is a unique event where celebrities play alongside professionals and the tournament is held on three different courses. But all the players who make the third round cut play the final round at St Andrews, something which pleases Dougherty.
"I think it's a good thing I will be playing St Andrews two days in a row," said Dougherty.
"It is nice to be able to go and play the same course tomorrow having played it today. I think I am in a good position and it will be good fun. I am very, very satisfied with a 66 round this course today."
British trio Paul Lawrie, Padraig Harrington, and Justin Rose are all in contention on 13-under-par.
