Sean O'Driscoll has been withdrawn from the running to become the new Burnley manager after opting to stay at Doncaster Rovers.
The Championship club today confirmed O'Driscoll had been approached by a Premier League team about taking over as manager, but the enquiries "are now at an end".
In a short statement, the second-tier side said: "Doncaster Rovers Football Club is pleased to announce that Sean O'Driscoll is to remain at the Keepmoat Stadium.
"Doncaster Rovers can confirm that enquiries were made by a Premier League club; however these enquiries are now at an end.
"Everybody at Doncaster Rovers Football Club are delighted that Sean will be staying with the Rovers and we hope that fans will turn out in their numbers on Saturday to support their team."
The news means former Sheffield Wednesday boss Brian Laws, who was sacked in December, is the front-runner for the Turf Moor job vacated by new Bolton manager Owen Coyle last week.
