At least two people have reportedly had claims late soul singer James Brown was their father backed up by DNA testing.
The godfather of soul's long-time agent Buddy Dallas confirmed that of a dozen people taking DNA tests to confirm they are the singer's children, some had returned positive results.
One such person is thought to be 45-year-old LaRhonad Petitt, who presented the Augusta Chronicle with a certificate showing there was a 99.9 per cent chance Brown was her father.
She told the South Carolina newspaper that the singer, who died last Christmas Day from heart failure at the age of 73, had plucked her mother from the crowd at a concert in LA in the 1960s, but they later broke up after a brief relationship.
"I was angry that he was out there making all this money, and he wasn't doing anything for my mother and me," the former flight attendant said.
"I could have had a better life."
Six other children are named in Brown's disputed will. The singer's embalmed body currently resides in the home of one of his daughters.
