Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo is to stand down from his role as president of the Formula One Teams' Association (Fota) at the end of the year.
The Italian took the position with Fota when the organisation was established in 2008. However, Di Montezemolo has announced he will step down from the role to allow him to focus on his work as president of Ferrari and Fiat.
"I took up the president role because I felt it was good to have teams competing on the track, and talking out of it like sports professionals," Di Montezemolo told Autosprint.
"This is what we did. However, I have another job and I can't do everything. So, I really think that I will step down at the end of the year."
This news comes after Fota vice chairman and former Toyota team principal John Howett quit his post when the Japanese manufacturer pulled out of F1 the week after the season finale in Abu Dhabi.
