Veteran fast bowler Steffan Jones has signed a two-year contract with Derbyshire after enjoying a successful loan spell in 2009.
Jones, 35, will also coach the younger bowlers at the County Ground as he looks to forge a career in cricket after he retires, which is likely to come at the end of the 2011 season.
Head of cricket John Morris said: "Steffan has been an excellent addition to our bowling attack since we brought him in on loan and we are delighted to have secured his services on a more permanent basis.
"Batsmen always know they are in a battle when Steffan is bowling at them and his excellent level of fitness and professionalism is a fine example to other cricketers."
Jones took 30 wickets in his nine matches during the second half of the season at Derbyshire, at an average of 32.33 as well as scoring two half-centuries in the lower order and recording an average of 33.17.
