Chelseas Spanish left-back Asier Del Horno could be on his way back to his homeland after just one season in England with reports claiming that Valencia are near striking a deal for the player.
Valencia president Juan Soler, has made his interest in the defender clear in comments he made to Las Provincias.
"Del Horno is a very interesting player and our technical team has been following him," he told the Spanish newspaper.
The 25-year-old has had an unspectacular first season at Stamford Bridge after he moved to London from Athletic Bilbao last summer for a fee of £8million.
Although he made 32 appearances for the Blues, he was highlighted by some as the champions defensive weakness and was on the receiving end of public criticism from his coach Jose Mourinho.
Spain coach Luis Aragones was forced to leave Del Horno out of his World Cup squad after he picked up an Achilles tendon injury during training.
William Gallas and Wayne Bridge have shorn up the left side of the Chelsea defence this past season.
With rumours continuing to suggest that Arsenal and England defender Ashley Cole may be heading to the club, Del Horno may feel that his international prospects could be harmed by remaining with Mourinhos side.
