Nick Youngquest scored a crucial second-half try to give Crusaders their first home win of the season as Hull saw their unbeaten start to the season go up in smoke.
Brian Noble's Crusaders, who thrashed Salford last week, won consecutive Super League games for the first time ever after wing Youngquest touched down after ten minutes.
Lee Radford and Tom Briscoe struck back for the visitors at the Racecourse Ground before Michael Witt levelled proceedings before the break.
A second try from Youngquest with 12 minutes left on the clock was enough to secure the win, however.
In today's other Super League match Huddersfield steamrollered Hull KR 30-0 at Craven Park.
David Hodgson managed a hat-trick of tries as the Giants inflicted a first nil-game on the Robins in three years.
Shaun Lunt, Larne Patrick and Leroy Cudjoe also went over the away side, while Brett Hodgson kicked three goals.
