Witness in teenage murder case speaks to police
A witness in the case of the teenage boy murdered outside a south London bakery at the weekend has come forward following a police appeal.

Police had been keen to trace the whereabouts of a white middle-aged man following the murder of Jimmy Mizen, who celebrated his 16th birthday on Friday in Lee after he was assaulted by a male youth.

A further statement from the Metropolitan police is expected in the next couple of hours.

Yesterday Detective Chief Inspector Lyons, the senior investigating officer, said Jimmy had been involved in a fight with "a youth intent on violence" at the Three Cooks Bakery in Lee.

He added: "Jimmy, being the type of man he is, declined that fight, and the aggressor was left outside the bakery.

"Not content with matters ending there, the youth then proceeded to smash down the door of the bakery, shattering the glass."

"He also picked up an advertising board and took it inside the bakery and wielded it around. A fight ensued and Jimmy received a fatal blow to his neck, cutting his throat with some glass."End of story
