A teenager shot dead inside a Costcutter shop in south-east London has been named.

Police believe Ryan Bravo, 18, from Lambeth, was an "innocent bystander" when he was shot late on Wednesday night.

Officers were called at around 21:40 BST after reports a man had been shot on Camberwell Road, Southwark.

On arrival at the scene Mr Bravo was discovered inside the Costcutter shop. London ambulance crews attended the scene but the 18-year-old was pronounced dead at the 22:25 BST.

A post mortem is expected to take place later today.

Police have arrested a 19-year-old man has in connection with the incident and is currently in custody in a south London police station.

A statement from Ryan's mother Elfrida Kiffin said the teenager had been a "decent, hardworking young man and loving son".

"This is an extremely difficult time for all of us that knew and loved Ryan and I would ask that we are given the time and space to grieve in private.

"I would urge anyone that knows or saw anything to come forward and assist officers from Operation Trident in their ongoing efforts to trace witnesses to this cold-blooded and reckless act."

Detective Superintendent Gary Richardson, from the Met's Operation Trident, said: "We are keeping an open mind regarding the motive of this murder, however it appears at this stage that the victim has no links to gang activity and that he was an innocent bystander - caught up in the line of fire and was not the intended target.

"The victim was walking down Walworth Road with family members. As they entered Costcutter, two black men forced their way into the shop behind them as if they were trying to get away from something. As they did so, shots were fired.

"Up to five male suspects drove away on three mopeds in the direction of Boyson Road.

"I am appealing for anyone who was inside Costcutter or outside the shop at the time of the shooting to contact police.

"Did you see people cruising up and down the road on mopeds outside Costcutter shortly before the shooting?

"Did you see them pull up onto the pavement and park outside Costcutter and open fire? Did you see them leave?"

Anyone with any information relating to the incident is asked to contact the police on 020 8247 4554.
