An 18-year-old who was stabbed to death in north London on Thursday has been named today by police.
Melvin Bryan, who was last known to live in Peckham, south London, died from stab wounds to his neck and chest following an argument on Gloucester Road, Edmonton.
He was taken to North Middlesex hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A 26-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man were arrested and have since been released with no further action taken.
Mr Bryan's next of kin have been informed and a post mortem was undertaken yesterday.
Three other men were fatally stabbed on Thursday; two of the victims within hours of each other.
20-year-old Adnan Patel, of Henniker Road, was treated by paramedics at Downsell Road in Leyton, east London, for stab wounds to the chest but was pronounced dead at the scene.
Four people have been arrested in connection with the stabbing, which took place at 17:30 BST.
Later at about 20:30 BST in Walthamstow, north-east London, Yusufu Miiro, 20, from Stratford, was found suffering from stab wounds in St David's Court.
He was pronounced dead at the scene an hour later. No arrests have yet been made.
And in the early hours of Thursday morning 42-year-old Genadijs Jaronis died from stab wounds by a disused pub in Tottenham, north London.
Police are appealing for witnesses after two men and three women arrested close by were released without charge.
Metropolitan police commissioner Sir Ian Blair said four fatal stabbings in 24 hours was 'tragic' for the entire capital.
"Each is an absolute tragedy and my thoughts are with the families and friends of the victims," he explained.
"These attacks are not connected nor do they all involve teenagers.
"Detectives have made arrests in three of the four murders. I want to reassure the public that the [Met] is doing everything possible both in terms of thoroughly investigating each case and in continuing to carry out proactive operations to get knives off the streets.
"The dreadful loss of life in just 24 hours graphically illustrates the need for everyone to pull together to put an end to this unacceptable violence."
