A teacher arrested on suspicion of assaulting a teenager at a school in Nottinghamshire is now being questioned on suspicion of attempted murder.
Nottinghamshire police have said the 14-year-old pupil is currently in hospital receiving treatment for serious injuries following an incident at the All Saints' Roman Catholic school in Mansfield.
Officers were called to the school just after 11:00 BST on Wednesday and discovered the teenager suffering from a series of injuries.
A 49-year-old man, named locally as Peter Harvey, has since been arrested and remains in police custody.
It was confirmed today he is also being questioned over alleged attacks on two other schoolchildren.
Officers meanwhile are continuing to liaise with the head teacher and staff at the school to discover what actually occurred.
The boy, who has not been named, is with his family in hospital.
