The former head of children's services at Haringey council has launched a judicial review against her dismissal in the wake of the death of Baby P.
Sharon Shoesmith was removed from her position without compensation following a damning report into her department's failings.
The 56-year-old will today bring judicial review proceedings against Haringey council, children's secretary Ed Balls and Ofsted.
Mr Balls removed her from her position on December 1st last year and the council formally dismissed her a week later.
Ms Shoesmith is expected to claim she was treated unfairly and illegally.
Peter Connolly, originally know as just Baby P, was 17-months-old when he died in north London in August 2007.
At the time of his death he was suffering with over 50 injuries, despite social workers visiting his home some 60 times.
His mother Tracey Connolly, 28, her partner Steven Barker, 33, and his brother Jason Owen, 37, were all jailed for causing or allowing his death.
