The teenager who killed Rhys Jones has stabbed the murderer of schoolboy Jimmy Mizen in a prison brawl, it has been alleged.
Sean Mercer, 18, is reported to have attacked Jake Fahri, 19, in the exercise yard at HMP Moorland in Doncaster earlier this week with a pair of tweezers sharpened and bound with tape to create a makeshift knife.
The incident is said to have also involved a third youth.
Mercer was sentenced to at least 22 years in prison after being convicted of shooting 11-year-old Rhys as he made his way home from football practice in Croxteth Park in Liverpool in August 2007.
Fahri was ordered to spend at least 14 years in jail after being convicted over the death of 16-year-old Jimmy.
The altar boy bled to death after his neck was slit by a glass dish in a bakery in south-east London in May 2008.
A Prison Service spokesman said: "On Monday a fight broke out between three prisoners at HMP and YOI Moorland.
"Staff acted quickly to control the situation and one prisoner was taken to an outside hospital for treatment.
"Police have been notified of this incident and are investigating."
