The parents of the children who attended a nursery where sexual assaults were committed will be allowed to choose whether or not they are told if their child was a victim.
Vanessa George, a nursery worker, abused children at Little Ted's nursery in Plymouth, and last week named some of the victims of the abuse.
A judge has said the parents will be given the choice of knowing whether or not their child was among those abused, with police believing as many as 30 babies and toddlers were the victims of George's assaults.
She has already admitted to seven sexual assaults on children, and six counts of distributing and making indecent pictures of children.
She has been urged since the case came to light to name those children involved, although some parents have said they would rather not know.
At the latest hearing at Bristol crown court Judge Royce said: "If parents want to find out whether their child has been abused, then they should be in a position to do so.
"If they don't want to know, and I fully understand why some parents should not want to know, then the information should not be thrust upon them.
"It should be a parental choice."
George, 39, and accomplices Colin Blanchard, 38, and Angela Allen, 39, will be sentenced next month.
