A Portuguese judge has banned the sale of a book about Madeleine McCann by the former police officer investigating her disappearance.
A judge on Thursday at Lisbon's civil court banned any further publication and sale of The Truth of the Lie by Goncalo Amaral.
In the controversial book, Mr Amaral claims Madeleine, who was three when she disappeared, is dead and the court ruled the accusations are hampering the search for the British girl and adding to her parents' distress.
Mr Amaral worked on the original investigation into Madeleine's disappearance from her family's holiday apartment in Praia da Luz in May 2007.
He was later removed from the investigation after criticising the British police's handling of the case.
Clarence Mitchell, the official spokesman for Kate and Gerry McCann, said the couple were "absolutely delighted" at the news.
The new injunction means Mr Amaral must ensure all unsold copies of the book are removed from shops and warehouse across Europe or face a £877-a-day fine.
