Merseyside police have today announced that four further people have been charged in connection with the Rhys Jones murder investigation.
Francis Yates, 48, and Marie Yates, 50, both of Dodman Road, Liverpool, have been summonsed for the offence of attempting to pervert the course of justice, police confirmed.
James Hughes, 22, of Willow Way, Croxteth, and a 48-year-old woman have also been charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.
All four are due to appear before Liverpool magistrates' court on June 17th.
Seven other people appeared in court yesterday charged in connection with the killing 11-year-old Rhys.
James Yates, 20, of Dodman Road, Croxteth, Gary Kays, 25, of Mallard Close, and Melvin Coy, 24, of Abbeyfield Drive, both West Derby, Liverpool, as well as a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old who cannot be named, are all charged with assisting an offender.
Another 16-year-old is charged with assisting an offender and possessing a firearm and ammunition.
And a 17-year-old boy is also charged in connection with the schoolboy's murder.
All seven were remanded in custody to appear in court on June 30th and the Recorder of Liverpool, Henry Globe, told the defendants their trial is likely to begin in October.
Rhys, 11, was shot dead in the Fir Tree pub car park in Croxteth last year.
