Two teenage boys arrested over fatal stabbing of Charles Junior Hendricks, 18, in Walthamstow last Sunday
Two teenage boys have been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of an 18-year-old close to the planned site of an Olympics party last Sunday.

Charles Junior Hendricks was found suffering from a stab wound in a grassy area by Selborne Road, Walthamstow, east London, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The teenager, known as CJ, died in hospital hours later. London 2012 organisers had hoped to relay the closing ceremony of the Beijing Games on a big screen in the area, but detectives cordoned the area off.

On Thursday afternoon two 16-year-olds were arrested in connection with CJ's murder.

One presented himself to a police station in east London, while the other was arrested in Holloway. They both remain in custody in east London police stations.

Two other male suspects – aged 17 and 19 - have already been bailed to return next month after being arrested near the scene shortly after the murder.

The Metropolitan police is still appealing for eyewitnesses to come forward.

Acting Detective Chief Inspector John Sandlin said: "I am appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time of the murder to please contact police with any information you may have.

"The incident happened close to a well lit bus garage.

"Did you see several males in the grass area near to the bus garage and close to Selborne Walk shopping centre? Did you see anyone run away from the scene?"

Anyone with information is asked to call the incident room on 020 8345 3715; if you wish to remain anonymous please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
