A former London Underground worker who absconded from a mental health unit in west London has been named.
Following a court order, the Metropolitan police have today appealed for assistance
and information regarding the whereabouts of 26-year-old Zeeshan Siddiqui.
Mr Siddiqui is thought to have absconded from the hospital in Hounslow on September 27th 2006.
He had a control order placed upon him under the Prevention of Terrorism Act 2005.
According to the BBC, which took the legal action to allow Mr Siddiqui to be named when he was previously referred to just as AD, he was mentioned at the Old Bailey trial into the alleged fertiliser plot as a potential suicide bomber.
He also was said to have links with the same network as Mohammad Sidique Khan, the man believed to be the ringleader of the July 7th 2005 London bombings.
"Any member of the public who sees this man should not approach him, but should call 999 immediately," a Metropolitan police spokesman said.
"Anyone with other relevant information on his whereabouts should contact the
confidential anti-terrorist hotline on 0800 789 321."
Police say Mr Siddiqui is 5ft 9ins tall, slim build, with black hair and brown eyes.
In relation to the decision not to reveal the identity of the absconder when he first went missing, Scotland Yard said anonymity orders are assessed on a "case-by-case basis".
