Former Fulham manager Chris Coleman has been offered the chance to take over at Spanish side Real Sociedad but has not decided whether to join them yet.
Coleman's agent, Alan Smith, said it was likely that the deal would go through before the end of the week but that the Welshman is taking his time to decide what is best for him and his family.
Former Sociedad boss John Toshack is said to have recommended Coleman for the position.
"They have made him an offer which is extremely generous and I think they are very keen to sign him," Smith told Sky Sports.
"I'm still out here with Chris at the moment and I think they have made as good an offer as we are going to get."
Sociedad were relegated from the Spanish top flight last season but remain a high-profile club in the Basque region of the country.
Coleman left the Cottagers five games before the end of last season, claiming he had taken the club as far as it could go, and he was replaced at the helm - first temporarily then full-time - by Northern Ireland manager Lawrie Sanchez.
Since then 37-year-old Coleman has been waiting for the right opportunity to get back into management.
Smith added: "It is a big move for a young manager. He did extremely well at Fulham, and has made no secret of the fact he would like to go abroad and I suspect this is an offer that is not going to be around too many times."
Coleman was the youngest manager in Premiership history when he took over at Fulham in 2003, winning 61 of his 176 games in charge.
