Chris Coleman has admitted he was "gutted" to see his Coventry City side eliminated from the FA Cup by a last-gasp goal against Portsmouth.
The Premier League side looked to be heading out of the competition after Leon Best's early strike, but a last-minute own goal from Stephen Wright took the third round replay to extra time.
And just as the game seemed to be heading for penalties, Pompey's Aaron Mokoena headed home from 12 yards to spark wild celebrations in the away dugout.
"We're gutted to be fair, the players are devastated," said Coleman.
"Overall I think we did enough to take it to penalties.
"When you lose like that, it's difficult to know what to say to the players. We're disappointed with the two goals we gave away."
Coleman said he thought the match was fairly even, with the home side enjoying the better of things in the first half before the visitors responded in the second.
And the Welshman rued his side's failure to score a decisive second goal when they were on top.
"We played very well in the first half, and could have got another goal," he said.
"We didn't and Portsmouth were better in the second half and pushed us back.
"Extra-time was 'even-steven' really so it's a tough way to lose a game and get knocked out of the cup."
The victory earns the Premier League's bottom side a fourth round tie against top flight rivals Sunderland at Fratton Park.
