Chelsea defender Ashley Cole says he is concentrating on football rather than the ongoing off-field issues at his club.
The England defender admitted that tensions around the club at board level could be contributing to the side's performances on the pitch, however.
He said: "We don't know what has gone on and as players we are trying to stay away from all that and let other people deal with it.
"But the results haven't gone too well for us of late and maybe it is down to that."
Cole said that it was his job to concentrate on football rather than the politics at the club and that all of his efforts were being channeled towards turning around the team's recent displays.
He said: "It's not affecting me. It's down to other people if they have got some differences to try and sort it out."
The Blues' full-back said that he felt he had only just settled in at the club following his summer move from Arsenal.
Cole said that he believed fellow new recruit Andriy Shevchenko is now beginning to adapt to life at Chelsea as well.
He backed Shevchenko to show that he is a born goalscorer after the Ukrainian netted twice against Wycombe in midweek.
He said: "Players play on confidence and he seems to be buzzing with confidence at the moment."
Cole concluded by saying that he and the rest of the players were looking forward to the chance of maintaining their FA Cup run against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
