Kim Clijsters has moved into the semi-finals at Eastbourne where she will play compatriot Justine Henin-Hardenne.
Clijsters beat Francesca Schiavone 6-2, 6-1 in windy conditions as the players warm up for Wimbledon which starts next week.
Clijsters was pleased with her form: "It was not possible to play your best tennis out there. The wind was just changing the ball the whole time, it was just swirling around."
The star denied media reports that she did not get on with fellow Belgian Henin-Hardenne.
She said: "It will be a tough match as ever against Justine. A lot of people assume there is a big rivalry between us because we come from the same country but I don't see it that way. We are different personalities but that doesn't mean to say I don't like her."
Clijsters claims that she and Henin-Hardenne do in fact get on well and had great fun this week in Eastbourne and whenever they play Fed Cup matches for Belgium.
In the other semi final there is another tussle between fellow countrymen as Svetlana Kuznetsova will play Anastasia Myskina for the right to contest the final with either Clijsters or Henin-Hardenne.
