Andy Murray has reached his first final at Queen's club with an impressive 6-2 6-4 win over Juan Carlos Ferrero.
Murray got off to a flying start and a couple of brilliant passes saw him break Ferrero in the first game of the match.
The Scot, who served brilliantly against Mardy Fish in the last round, was once again on top form as he held on to his serve to take a 3-1 lead in the first set.
Ferrero thought he had got to 3-2 when he hit a winner on 40-30 on his serve, but Murray correctly challenged the call and then a couple of mistakes from the Spaniard saw Murray take a decisive 4-1 lead.
The Murray serve continued to be dominant in the first set with Ferrero finding it difficult to win points and the British number one went on to take the first set with ease.
Ferrero is a former world number one and French Open champion and he showed his fighting qualities in the opening game of the second set. The 29-year-old came back from 0-40 on his serve to take a 1-0 lead.
Things almost got even better for Ferrero as he had a break point opportunity in the next game. But Murray came up with a big ace to save the break point and then went on to take the game.
After three break point chances in the opening game, Murray had too more in the next game, but was unable to break.
Ferrero worked hard to get to 3-3 in the second set, but Murray lifted his game when it really mattered. With Ferrero serving, Murray came up with a stunning cross-court backhand which gave him the chance to put away an easy volley to break and take a 4-3 lead.
Murray went on to comfortably serve out for the set and match to setup a final clash with either Andy Roddick or James Blake.
