Manchester City have been drawn against German side Hamburg in the quarter-finals of this season's Uefa Cup.
England's sole remaining representative in Europe's second tier club tournament will take on the side managed by former Spurs boss Martin Jol, who have played well in domestic and continental competition this season.
And City's route to the final could not be more difficult after they were paired with the winners of the standout last-eight tie between German giants Werder Bremen, who knocked out favourites AC Milan earlier in the competition, and in-form Italian club Udinese.
Mark Hughes' side just scraped into today's draw after a 2-2 aggregate draw against Aalborg of Denmark, before winning 4-3 in a penalty shootout.
In the other half of the draw, there is the potential for either an all-French of all-Ukrainian semi-final.
Paris Saint Germain will take on Dynamo Kiev in their quarter-final, with the first leg to be played in the French capital, while in the final last-eight tie Shakhtar Donetsk play Marseille for the right to meet the winner.
Four of the eight teams remaining in the competition - including the two Ukrainian outfits Kiev and Shakhtar - dropped down to the Uefa Cup from the Champions League after finishing third in their groups.
Marseille and Bremen are the other two.
