Danny Cipriani guided Wasps to a 25-16 victory over Edinburgh at Murrayfield in pool two of the Heineken Cup.
The fly-half kicked over six penalties and a conversion while Tommy Rees touched down two minutes from time.
Mark Robertson scored for Edinburgh while Chris Paterson booted over three penalties. But it was not enough to prevent defeat and see Wasps close the gap on leaders Leinster, who play Castres tomorrow, to two points.
Elsewhere, Sale have gone top of pool one after a 36-6 win over Montauban at Edgeley Park.
The Sharks scored a first-half try through Juan Fernandez Lobbe, while Andy Tuilagi, Eifion Roberts, and David Tait crashed over in the second half.
Charlie Hodgson slotted over four penalties for Sale to see them go above Munster into top spot.
Elsewhere, Ulster got their first win of the tournament after overcoming Llanelli 26-16 at Ravenhill.
The Irish side scored tries through Darren Cave, Simon Danielli, and David Pollock while Iain Humphreys slotted over three penalties.
Ulster move up to third place in pool four and swap places with the Scarlets.
Elsewhere, Cardiff remain unbeaten in this season's tournament after a 21-17 win over Biarritz at Cardiff Arms Park.
Ben Blair kicked over five penalties for the Welsh side while Nick Robinson booted over two drop goals.
The win for Cardiff cements their position at the top of pool six while Biarritz are five points adrift in second place.
