The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that the second Test match between India and England next month will be played in the southern city of Chennai.
The decision has been taken to move the match after events in Mumbai over the last two days, which have seen terrorists taking hostages in hotels and bomb explosions across the city - killing more than 100 people.
Increasing uncertainty over the security situation in the country resulted in the boards of England and India calling off the final two one-day internationals of the seven-match series yesterday.
And despite the tourists planning to fly home to London tomorrow, they are expected back within weeks to play a two-match Test series starting in Ahmedabad on December 11th.
"India's Test series against England will be played as per schedule," said BCCI secretary N. Srinivasan.
"Chennai will host the second Test from December 19th instead of Mumbai."
The England squad's warm-up and pre-series preparations will remain largely unchanged with Baroda staging a three-day game between the tourists and an Indian board president's XI from December 5th.
