Magners League champions Munster crashed to a surprise 22-6 defeat to bottom side Ulster at Ravenhill this evening.
Munster have been in blistering form so far this season and were unbeaten both at home and in Europe. But two tries from Fijian winger Timoci Nagusa and one from Isaac Boss helped Ulster to a crucial win.
Things didn't get off to the best of starts for Ulster as Niall O'Connor missed a simple penalty chance, to make matters worse, Paul Warwick stepped up for Munster to convert a much harder chance and give his side a 3-0 lead.
O'Connor was forced to go off early on with a hip injury and this brought Ian Humphreys into the game and he turned out to be the star man for Ulster.
Humphreys first got Ulster back on level terms as he kicked a difficult penalty attempt and two minutes later the home side had their first try.
It was centre Paddy Wallace who created the try for Ulster as his brilliant inside ball sent Nagusa free and powerful winger was unstoppable in his run to the try-line. Humphreys added the extra two points to give Ulster 10-3 lead.
It took Nagusa only ten minutes to get as his second try as his team-mates worked the ball out to the left-wing and the Fijian international dived in the corner for the try.
After a tough two weeks of Heineken Cup action, Munster decided to rest a number of key players including the likes of Ronan O'Gara and Doug Howlett and as a result were a poor as an attacking threat.
Ulster cruised to only their second win all year as Boss added a third try and they now leapfrog Connacht and the Dragons at the foot of the table.
