Swansea have confirmed that Scottish giants Celtic have made an approach for their manager Roberto Martinez.
The Hoops have been linked with a number of big-names to replace Gordon Strachan and it now seems like they have turned their attentions to one of the best young managers in English football.
Martinez has done a terrific job in his two years at Swansea. The 35-year-old led the Swans to the League One title in his first season and then guided them to a respectable eighth in the championship this season.
"I had a call from Celtic chief executive (Peter Lawwell) making me aware that they'd like to talk to Roberto," Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins told BBC Wales. "Like I've always done I refused that until I've spoken to Roberto myself and talked things through.
"I think you've got to respect... what type of club Celtic are and what opportunities exist - perhaps not in the (Scottish Premier) League but certainly in the Champions League - and the size of the club.
"Naturally I suppose that interest would require anybody to sit and consider their position. It's basically up to him how he sees it. Roberto has got to consider his future and where his commitment lies."
Aside from Martinez, the likes of Tony Mowbray and Owen Coyle have been linked with the Celtic hotseat. Croatia boss Slaven Bilic has admitted he would be interested in the job, but David Moyes has ruled himself out of the running.
