Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech said it was a case of one point gained rather than two points dropped after his side drew 0-0 with Everton at Goodison Park.
"It is a good result," Cech said.
"They're in good form and playing well. It is a tough place to come with 11 men and we were down to 10. We kept the ball and controlled the game even with 10 men.
"They had some chances but overall we can be satisfied.
"It's a pity we couldn't go top of the league again but in the end we can say it's a good point."
Chesea were reduced to 10-men after captain John Terry was sent-off for a high tackle on Leon Osman after 35 minutes.
The Chelsea players complained bitterly about the decision by referee Phil Dowd, but Cech was sympathetic to the referee.
"I think it's hard for the referee. He has to make a decision in an split second with the crowd behind him.
"He made the decision and we have to live with that."
