Paul Casey has won the BMW PGA Championship in Wentworth after surviving a dramatic fightback from fellow Englishman Ross Fisher.
The 31-year-old appeared to be cruising to victory before Fisher delivered a spectacular final round of 64, which included eight birdies and no bogeys and was one shot short of being a course record.
Fisher finished on 16 under par, but Casey was able to birdie the par-five 18th to clinch victory on 17 under - despite finding the bunker with his approach shot.
Casey's win means his world ranking has increased from 41st to third this year, and the Englishman was delighted after sealing victory on the final hole.
"It was not an easy putt at the last, but any putt to win is something I would like to have," he said. "There are great names on this trophy and it feels great."
After praising his US-based coach Peter Kostis, Casey added: "The BMW PGA Championship is our flagship event on the European Tour and I've always wanted to get my hands on this trophy. This feels fantastic."
Denmark's Soren Kjeldsen finished on twelve under, with Stephen Dodd a further shot behind.
Northern Ireland's Roy McIlroy was at one stage a contender, but dropped three shots on the back nine to finish fifth on nine under par.
Reigning champion Miguel Angel Jimenez carded level par in the final standings, while Scotland's Colin Montgomerie ended the Wentworth event on one under.
